Information is Beautiful!
Why is it that most information designers happen to live in the UK? I can't exactly answer that question. It's sort of how you got all the innovative minds clustered around California (the firm Ideo is a good example).
While Hubberly Dubbs has always been an information design hero, here's another rising star: David McCandless. He likes to fiddle with graphic design and information, much like Hubberly. His style, however, is far less serious, more cheeky at times and decorative (perhaps less functional in some cases).
He has also written 2 books: Information is Beautiful and The Visual Micellaneum.
